Cellphones - Mp3 – GPS

.Believe it or not, cell phones have a longer history then the radio. Cell phones started off in the 1920's and radios were first used in 1921. Some of the cell phone features were used in radios way back in the 1940's. Police used these radios.

The idea of the cellular phone was developed in 1947 as a mobile car phone. Bell Laboratories (also known as Bell Labs and formerly known as AT&T Bell Laboratories and Bell Telephone Laboratories) produced the concept of the cellular phone by introducing cells for mobile phone base stations.

Russell Ohl developed the photovoltaic cell (a device that converts light energy into electrical energy.)

The first actual cell phone was invented in 1973 by Martin Cooper of Motorola and other assisting inventors. It was called the "radio telephone system." He used the idea of the car phone and applied the technology required to make a portable cell phone a reality.

Cooper's vision for personal wireless communications was born. In 1978, Bell Labs introduced the first commercial cellular network in Chicago using AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone System). This was an analog mobile phone system.

Cell phones were first made available to the public in 1984 although they were very large, expensive instruments. The Federal Communications Commission worked together with AT&T and Bell Towers to establish broadcast towers.

Towers allowed calls to transfer from tower to tower.

Cell Phone GPS

In the same way, it has become common for people to be able to use a cell phone GPS navigation systems to find directions to anyway.

GPS works because there are constantly released signals when the phone is on. Even without a call the GPS can track the phone. A signal is picked up and received by the receiver, telling the user the location, direction, and speed of the cell phone.

GPS track cell phones better than triangulation that was used before GPS technology. Triangulation determines which three cell phone towers to which phone is the closest.

The Cell Phone GPS, on the other hand, can pinpoint the location of the phone within about five meters.

he use of cell GPS have helped to save lives and continue to help. Since the cellphone GPS is nearly pinpoint accurate, it can help with both emergency 911 calls as well as missing person situations. For instance, if a person is missing, and his or her cell phone is left on, the phone can be traced using the GPS. Today, most cell phones have GPS capabilities so when someone calls 911, the phone sends the GPS information to the 911 operator.

The compact size of cell phones allows cell phone navigation systems, like the VZ Navigator by Verizon Wireless.

It's amazing what a small, but advanced tool this cell phone GPS offers to today's fast paced, technological world.

There has been a major growth in the GPS cell phone technology over the past few years.
